Industrial Services

ES&H provides a wide array of industrial services including in-plant specialty industrial services. ES&H's focus on safety provides ES&H with the safety record that enables it to provide services to some of the largest companies within the oil storage, chemical and refining industries.

Asbestos and Lead Abatement

When any asbestos-containing materials in buildings are disrupted, the microscopic fibers that are released can cause significant health problems, including lung cancer and mesothelioma. In order to protect building occupants, maintenance professionals, and construction workers from this harmful and potentially deadly substance, building owners and managers are required to follow EPA regulations for the management and asbestos removal in their facilities.

Confined Space Entry/Rescue

ES&H has the equipment, expertise, and experience to handle confined space entry and cleanup projects. ES&H has successfully executed a number of highly difficult confined space projects across several types of industries. ES&H manages both emergency and non-emergency events, in order to protect the health and safety of people.

Decontamination

Decontamination, or decon, is the removal of hazardous substances, such as bacteria, chemicals, or radioactive material, from equipment, tools, and sites to the extent necessary to prevent health and environmental effects. ES&H uses the most appropriate method of decontamination based on the hazards present.

NORM

Accelerated levels of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) are often associated with coal mining and combustion, oil and gas production, metal mining and smelting, building and construction and related industries. Chronic exposure to NORM can cause certain forms of cancer and other health problems. NORM remediation involves the removal of this contaminant for the general protection of human health and the environment.

ES&H is a fully licensed NORM contractor with a supervisory staff that has more than 50 years of combined experience with NORM disposal and reduction. ES&H NORM services include confirmatory and release surveys, equipment decontamination, land remediation, assistance with NORM waste handling and disposal, regulatory compliance issues, and NORM training.

Oil Water Separator/Sumps Cleaning

Oil water separators are systems used as an efficient method to separate oils and some solids from a variety of wastewater discharges. They are typically installed in industrial and maintenance areas and receive oily wastewater. Over time, solids build up and accumulate in these separators and require removal. ES&H provides personnel and equipment to manage the removal of this waste from the separators.

ES&H is also experienced at cleaning sumps at various industrial facilities. ES&H dislodges the sludge and removes the biological residues.

Industrial Tank Cleaning

ES&H provides comprehensive industrial cleaning services for storage tanks of all sizes, including large oil storage and other tanks located at plants, refineries, and tank storage facilities. ES&H has cleaned tanks and vessels ranging in size from 10' in diameter to 330' in diameter with products ranging from light aromatics (alcohol, gasoline, etc.) to hazardous chemicals (caustics, acids, etc.) to heavy black oils (VGO, #6 oil, etc.) to solids (barite, asphalt, etc.). From project planning and waste removal to cleaning and disposal, ES&H handles all phases of these projects in strict accordance with regulations.
